SENIOR!!!

Well, it has finally happened; I am officially a senior in college! AHH! So weird.

School is going well, classes are moderately easy. The apartment is wonderful; Amy, Rebecca, Beth, and I love living here. The only complaint that we might have is riding the bus... So you see, I have always been fortunate enough to never have to take public transportation to get from place to place. Well this year I get to ride the bus to school, and let me tell you...there are some VERY interesting people on this bus. Stillwater's finest in my opinion!! HAHA

Also, some of you may have heard, but I guess its not safe to say that being a senior means that I understand what happens when you park in another resident's spot at our apartment... Long story short I wasn't thinking (refrain from laughing), and I parked in a carport that did not belong to me. I go out to my car the next afternoon and it isn't there.... I GOT TOWED!!!!! The girl that towed me was in a christian sorority (a little ironic, don't ya think) and she didn't even have the decency to inform the apartment or me; so she just called up a towing company and they took LG. So now $128 later, I have learned my lesson about parking in other people's spots!

On a better note, this weekend was Dad's Weekend!! So the old man came up and we had a great time!! Tailgated with the girls and their Dad's, then we went to the bars last night... SOO fun!! Had a blast, but may have drank a little too much... WHOOPS! Dad took me to Shortcakes the next morning, so that made it all better!!

Cardinal Camp and First Day of School

Wanted to update everyone on the exciting happenings here in Flagstaff during this last month. The Arizona Cardinals have their training camp up here and Grant and Sloane got to meet a lot of the players and get many autographs. It was very exciting for all of us! The best part was meeting their favorite player, Larry Fitzgerald. He moves very quickly through the crowds so we were especially proud to get a picture with him also. One of the nicest guys on the team is #45 Reagan Maui'a. The kids really liked him a lot. Sloane was chosen to walk with a player after practice one day and hold his helmet! She got a signed baseball cap too! She walked with Anthony Becht and when I got a look at him I was extremely jealous! They started school this week and it is going very well for everyone, including me! Sloane started kindergarten, Grant is in 3rd grade and I have more time to myself! So we are all happy!

Random Pics

I haven't posted any pictures in a while and just wanted to update everyone on the events going on in our house recently. Sloane learned to ski this year and did a great job! She didn't even complain about it being cold. Grant is already a little pro and can go down the mountain faster than I can! Sloane danced in her second recital a couple of weeks ago. She did a tap and ballet routine. She did so good out there on stage and remembered all the moves. Be sure to ask her to do "Boogie Heals", her favorite tap step! The picture of her in her tap costume is with her best friend Sierra. Grant loved baseball this season and improved so much! He got on base almost every time he was up to bat and scored a lot of runs. He also fielded very well. We are so proud of him! He now says that baseball is his favorite sport. The kids also had a special day at their schools that I thought you would enjoy seeing a picture of. Grant got a pajama day and Sloane had a Hawaiian Luau. (Notice her authentic coconuts from Hawaii!) They were a big hit with the little boys in her class! As you can see we have been very busy lately with all the fun kid activities. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Layne's Senior Prom Pics

Layne Senior Prom

Layne's boyfriend, Matt Williams, was attending a school play competition at the beginning of the prom so Layne & Matt's mutual friend "Istiaque" escorted Layne to the prom.

First part of the pictures were taken at our house and then the rest was at a friend's house.

Mom's Day 2010 at Tri Delta

This year for Mom's Day, Mom wasn't able to make it because the favorite sister was having her senior prom. So Grandma M and Grandpa Stan came down to Stillwater for the weekend to be my temporary mom!

We ate little finger foods at the house, then went for the grand tour of the house! They both seemed suprised that my room was clean... but it always is!! :o)

Then we went shopping (which Grandpa LOVED), and had to get some frozen yogurt in honor of Grandma Corky, who was going to come, but had "wheel" duties.

That evening we went to Spring Sing, a show that fraternaties and sororities put on. It was fun to see all the shows in Gallagher-Iba Arena. After the show, my group of girlfriends and their families all went to Joseppi's for supper!
We had a great weekend, and Grandma and Grandpa did a great job standing in for mom!

UPDATE

UPDATE- UPDATE-UPDATE: I will also add this to the Schramm Blog.

First of all Layne played her very last high school soccer game last night. The Colony made the playoffs again for four years in a row. Layne’s freshman year they WON STATE! Her sophomore year they lost in the playoffs to the team that won state. Her junior year they lost again to the team that won state. And last night they just might have lost again to the team that will win state. They had a good year and made it 3 deep in playoffs. If you go 5 deep you are in Austin. It was a good run for Layne and she was a little sad, of course, to see it come to an end. Her next big step is graduation on June 13th. PLEASE COME AND JOIN US FOR HER GRADUATION. (If we run out of room we have a good State Park for RV’s and an Excellent Hotel right here in town) Then she has already gotten her marching orders from her college coach where she will be off to college on July 23rd for college soccer which starts on July 24th. So we will only have her for just over a month after graduation and then she is GONE! Good Job LAYNE!!!

I had a major computer malfunction just over a month ago and I am just now recovering with a new computer and all new software (due to windows 7?!?! – big pain in the ***). So sorry everyone for not keeping the blog up-to-date as I normally do. Also new trivia to come on the blog!

Lori had a job interview yesterday. She was hired by “Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group” to examine & make evaluations on mortgage loans for Bank of America’s “County Wide Home Mortgage” division. This is a temporary appointment for about 90 days, but they were already asking her about full time employment, so things are looking up in that area. Wanted all of you to know right away as I know many of you have been concerned about Lori’s employment status. Lori is very upbeat and positive about this appointment & believes good things are ahead!

I’ve been very busy and then last week Brooke was home for spring break, so lots of things going on around here.

Will talk to ya’ll soon. Keep an eye on the Blog. Hey if any of you Hooligans out there, that are not invited to post to the blog, just email me at texschramm@gmail.com and I will get you set up so you can add to the blog to make it more enjoyable for all of us. You don’t only want to hear from me – DO YOU?

Talk to all of you soon.

Sincerely
MHS
